Bitcoin (BTC) is a digital currency (cryptocurrency) that was created in 2009 by an unknown person with the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are done without third parties, which means you don't need any banks! BTC can be used to book Expedia hotels, purchase furniture on Overstock and purchase Xbox games and much more. But much of the hype is about getting rich trading. The price of Bitcoin rose sharply to $ 20,000 in 2017, which was a fabulous price at the time. Bitcoins are not printed as dollars or euros. BTCs are produced by humans and, increasingly, by companies around the world that provide computers for solving mathematical problems - mining.
